This is a beautiful unique Azilal tribal rug made circa 1980 of fine pure sheep’s wool. The overall look of the rug is of a predominantly ivory rug with salmon and brown tones, these being complemented by additional colour pops that give vibrancy to the design. So much work has obviously gone into making this rug with practically every few knots displaying a different colour. The rug is beautifully soft underfoot and is in lovely condition. A wonderful addition to any traditional or modern home.
Photos don’t do this rug justice. The predominantly salmon, pink and brown speckles are just beautiful and the added occasional pops of other colours just lift the whole rug to another level of beauty. I imagine this rug as a highlight in a room with a neutral colour scheme, on a wooden floor maybe with slightly darker wooden furniture. It would look amazing."

About Azilal rugs
The Azilal region stretches from the High Atlas Mountains all the way to the Middle Atlas. Rugs were originally woven solely for personal use in the home. Some Azilal rugs are made using natural white sheep’s wool with patterns in undyed black or brown wool. Others are very vibrant and colourful with freeform random shapes and design. They are usually of low to medium pile, spun using fine pure wool, and occasionally have added pieces of material woven in to create texture and effect. Azilal rugs will add a touch of creative flair to any room.
