Description
A stunning 1950s small rug from the Middle Atlas made by the Beni Ouarain tribes. The field is a mixture of dark and light natural wool interspersed with attractive brightly coloured cotton strands. The negative space, more easily seen from a little further away, forms a tribal lozenge pattern synonymous with rugs made in this region. This small rug is very creative and would make a beautiful wall hanging displayed as a work of art or it can, of course, also be used as a floor rug to add vibrancy to a room.

The creativity behind this work of art is astounding. I admire the way the weaver has used negative space to produce an almost hidden design of lozenges. Very clever and adds depth to the piece."
