A stunning vintage rug from the 1970s, made by the Zaer tribe who inhabit the region south-east of Rabat. It was made as a ceremonial saddle rug and, as it would have only been used occasionally, it is in very good condition. It features many colourful tribal patterns woven inside squares and rectangles, giving a sense of uniformity to the overall design. A classic colour scheme and design synonymous with this region. The reverse of the rug is just as wonderful as the front (see last photo). A rare and beautiful rug.
A rug that just bursts with tribal beauty.
