A small vintage rug from the Telouet region of the High Atlas, handmade by the tribes of the Ait Ouaouzguite tribal confederation. It features tribal patterns in traditional browns and beige colours with the addition of a border bearing bright yellow, red and green Berber symbols. The fringing echoes the red patterns in the rug. This rug is totally unique in its design.

These stunning woollen rugs hail from the Jbel Siroua region of Morocco which extends from the High Atlas Mountains in the north to the pre-Saharan regions in the south and are made by tribes belonging to the Ait Ouaouzguite tribal confederation. They are sometimes collectively known as 'Taznakht rugs' as Taznakht is the carpet capital of this area. These rugs are renowned for their high quality silky wool, their traditional designs and their striking colours. The quality of work produced by the weavers of this region is exceptional. Glaoui rugs from the Telouet region of the High Atlas are also made by tribes of the Ait Ouaouzgite tribal confederation and are traditionally flat-woven rugs with knotted embellishment. They are highly collectible.
