An exceptional vintage 1950s rug made by the Beni Jelidassen tribe of Morocco. This one is stunning, a rare find. The multi-layered chevron design dominates the rug, within which are smaller geometric patterns. The colours are still strong, vivid red and blue are interspersed with natural straw shades throughout most of the rug. The bottom part of the rug as we look at it changes colour to a more pastel shades of pink, green and orange. Very unusual and unique. This rug has been preserved in its glorious vintage state!
Oh my days, how beautiful is this one! Nibbled edges just add to its vintage charm. Wonder what the house or tent was like where this amazing rug graced the floor 70 years ago ...?
