This stunning vintage rug from the 1970s was made by the Oulad Bou Sbaa tribe who inhabit the region west of Marrakech around the town of Sidi Mokhtar. The red/orange abrashed field is made from wool dyed with madder which grew abundantly in this region at the time it was made. With its faded patina and woven banded ends in traditional colours, this is a lovely example of a tribal rug from this region.
A beautiful classic Oulad Bou Sbaa rug with traditional design and colour. A stunner!"
